The Easy Spawning Mop makes for a great place for fish that spawn and lay their eggs in mops, such as rainbowfish, killifish, rosy barbs, and rice fish. The mop is made of acrylic yarn, which won't decompose or break down in your aquarium. It floats on top of the water with a 3D printed float. We added a removable suction cup to the newest version, so that it may also be placed against a glass or acrylic wall in your aquarium. The 8" length works well for most species. If you want the strands shorter, you can cut them with scissors.

Note: These parts are 3D printed with material that is sensitive to higher temperature. Do not place in direct sunlight, dishwasher, microwave, or hot water, as it may cause damage to the product.

We are experimenting with the spawning mop and every fish and shrimp love it. It took a few days for all the strands to hang vertically. The bettas love using the strands as hammocks. It floats around effortlessly and looks really cool!

This is a perfect spawning mop. The size works very well in shorter 10 gallon tanks. I have hundreds of dwarf rainbow fry after leaving it with adults for 10 days.

I know this will do the job because it’s almost identical to the ones I used to make by hand for my pond goldfish. Will use this one for my golden white clouds, but they are still a little too young. I’ll be ordering another mop so I can use them in rotation once the fish start laying eggs.

My panda corys like to lay eggs on the glass almost anywhere but I throw one in they tend to lay between it and the glass makes it easier to collect

Great product, very happy. Wish the website or box indicated it could take a couple days for the yarn to fully waterlog and sink. Pretty minor though.

I bought this for my grandmothers Cory cats because they kept laying the eggs on the glass and not getting enough circulation, it floats to start with then the tassels sink as intended, haven't seen them lay eggs again yet but I'll submitt another review when they do.
