Hikari Algae Wafers are designed to have the complete nutritional balance that plecos need to thrive. We have found the wafers are a hit with other fish as well such as other species of catfish and even livebearers. This food contains a high level of vegetable matter which algae eaters naturally prefer and enjoy. It will sink right away and will not cloud water.
Package comes in three size options: 0.70oz (20g), 2.89 oz (82g) and 8.8oz (250g)
Feeding Suggestions: Feed only the amount your fish will completely consume within two (2) hours. Algae Wafers can be broken into smaller pieces, if desired.

Copper sulfate was left out of the list of ingredients, but is list on the bag. Copper sulfate can be toxic to some species of snail.
Copper in copper sulfate binds to proteins in fungi and algae. This damages the cells causing them to leak and die. In snails, copper disrupts the normal function of the skin cells and enzymes.

Everyone in my tank including the neon tetras, blue velvet shrimp, otos and the snails all love this food. It's usually gone once my mystery snail finds it. He's my little hoover. Highly recommend these wafers.

My Longfin Albino Bristlenose, Super Red Bristlenose, SAEs, and Silver Flying Fox all enjoy the wafers. I think they like the size of the wafer, which is considerably larger then some of the other wafers I have purchased.

I use this wafer in my Bristlenose Pleco/Cherry Shrimp breeding tank and they all go crazy for them. As soon as the wafers hit the water, the fish and shrimp start swimming around to find the food!

After Omega One algea tablets went down in quality, I searched for a good alternative. I decided to try a small pack of these in the beginning thinking aquarium coop wouldn't sell trash. And they don't. These wafers are what Omega One used to be. Fast sinking and my fish love them.

Truly, I don’t think Hikari makes anything my fish don’t love to eat. My Plecos, big and small, inhale the algae wafers. Great for pleco fry too !!

I’ve been happy with Hikari fish food products, and these algae wafers are no exception. My corys, plecos, kuhlis, hillstream loaches, and amano shrimp all love them. I use a variety of foods, including these wafers by Hikari. Highly recommend!

I've been looking for a larger algae wafer for my Plecos. The small one's work but are usually grabbed by my Plattys. These algae wafers are about the size of a dime and are not dragged off so easily. My Pleco's love them.
